And NO I'm not comparing the Pilot to those other brands, but you get the picture. When's the last time you saw a new Land Rover, Lexus, or BMW SUV with a front license plate. Nor have I known of anyone that would get pulled over for driving without one (usually the cop pulls you over for something else like speeding, etc). In my state I see roughly 50% of vehicles driving down the road WITHOUT a front plate anyways, so I know I'm not the only one that feels that way. They totally hide the holes and look very "OEM" similar to how a tow hook cover might look. Bumper Plugs was the company I bought them from and they are factory painted to match your body color, in my case Crystal Black Pearl. So I removed the front license plate bracket and did a Google search and found a site that sells "plugs" the discreetly install into the existing holes in the bumper. As Honda CRV is not a van-type big car, people start questioning while fitting a. Personally, I hate the look, my plates aren't personalized in any way (just the generic alpha-numeric number they assign you) and it takes away from the clean look of the front end, especially on a Crystal Black Pilot. Honda facilities produce: Honda and Acura vehicles and their engines. When I picked up my new Pilot my dealer installed them before I could tell him not to. That said, as others have stated the dealer drills holes in the bumper and assembles the frame to the bumper. I hate front license plates and unfortunately live in a state that "requires" them.
